Pakistan: Pakistan has categorically rejected unfounded allegations made by an Indian representative at the UN General Assembly concerning the draft resolution titled 'Promotion of Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, Understanding and Cooperation for Peace.'
According to Radio Pakistan, First Secretary Zulfiqar Ali, speaking on behalf of Pakistan, expressed regret over India's attempt to undermine the significance of the unanimous adoption of this important resolution, which embodies the international community's commitment to harmony, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. He dismissed India's claims as falsehoods motivated by its military defeat in May.
Zulfiqar Ali further emphasized Pakistan's efforts in facilitating Sikh pilgrims' visits to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur through the Kartarpur Corridor. He highlighted the safety and dignity ensured for thousands of visitors, the majority of whom are from India. This initiative has garnered global recognition, with UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres referring to it as a 'Corridor of Hope,' showcasing Pakistan's commitment to protecting the rights of religious minorities.
The First Secretary also criticized India as being one of the world's most intolerant states, pointing out that violence against minorities often occurs under state patronage, with Muslims and other communities frequently facing discrimination, persecution, and hate crimes. Pakistan urged India to cease such practices and to hold perpetrators accountable, stressing that progress should be measured by concrete actions rather than rhetoric.
