Pakistan Strongly Rejects Baseless Accusations by Indian Minister, Army Chief

Islamabad: Pakistan has once again strongly rejected the recent baseless accusations and unfounded assertions made by India's Defence Minister and Chief of Army Staff. At his weekly media briefing in Islamabad today, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed territory. The final status of this region is to be determined in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Spokesperson stated that India has no legal or moral grounds to assert fictitious claims over the territories of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He also addressed questions regarding relations with Afghanistan, categorically rejecting reports of any annexation of the Wakhan Corridor and reaffirming it as part of Afghan territory. The Spokesperson emphasized Afghanistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, denying any intentions of annexation.

The Spokesperson reiterated the call for the Afghan government to take action against terrorist groups that enjoy safe sanctuaries within its borders. He highlighted the ongoing multilayered engagement between Pakistan and Afghanistan aimed at nurturing good ties and addressing the issue of terrorist sanctuaries.

When questioned about the visit of a Bangladeshi military delegation to Pakistan, he described the visit as important. Bangladesh is considered an important country for Pakistan, and the two nations aim to maintain strong and vibrant relations. Military cooperation and delegation exchanges are part of regular state interactions.

Addressing a query about a statement from the Russian Foreign Minister regarding relations with Pakistan, the Spokesperson welcomed the remarks. Both Pakistan and Russia have worked to strengthen their relationship, which is on a solid and stable foundation and continues to improve.

In response to another question, he mentioned Pakistan's intent to send more humanitarian convoys to Gaza once relief aid begins moving into the territory following a ceasefire deal. Additionally, he confirmed that Pakistan's Ambassador in Washington would attend the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump.
