Pakistan Supports All Sincere Efforts for Regional Peace: DPM

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has emphasized the importance of a recent telephone call led by President Donald Trump involving leaders from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Qatar, Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan. This call is seen as a significant stride towards achieving regional peace and stability, highlighting the potential for an early diplomatic resolution.

According to Radio Pakistan, in a statement on his X handle, Deputy Prime Minister Dar praised President Trump's leadership and dedication to fostering dialogue and diplomacy. He also acknowledged Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the entire US team for their continuous engagement, which has been instrumental in making substantial progress in the ongoing peace negotiations.

Ishaq Dar expressed his appreciation for the constructive involvement of Iranian leaders, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, acknowledging their support in advancing these peace initiatives.

Furthermore, he extended his gratitude to the UN Secretary-General, regional partners, and other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt, and Qatar. These nations have engaged constructively since February 28th, contributing significantly to the progress achieved in the peace process.

The Deputy Prime Minister also commended Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his visionary leadership and commitment to peace, alongside Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who represented Pakistan and played a crucial role in today's discussions.

Ishaq Dar recognized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan for their diligent diplomatic engagement and unwavering support throughout these efforts. He reiterated Pakistan's firm commitment to supporting all genuine efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace, mutual respect, and regional stability.

Concluding his remarks, Dar emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy should triumph over conflict and confrontation, paving the way for collective prosperity and security in the region and beyond.
