Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has underscored the need for rebuilding and revamping infrastructure in the country to withstand the threats posed by climate change.
He was addressing via zoom link the 'National conference - Integrating climate smart agriculture and water, Energy and Food Nexus for Sustainable Development and Food Security under changing climate' organized by Dawood University of Engineering, Karachi.
He said the government is open to receive innovative solutions from academia.
The Minister urged the academicians to focus on solutions of problems in dealing with the impending challenges.
He said the world is experiencing worst impact of climate change and Pakistan is among the most vulnerable countries affected by climate change with food security as the foremost challenge in this regard.
