PM Approves Plan for Youth Training Aligned with Market Demands

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has given his approval to a strategic plan aimed at equipping the youth with training programs tailored to meet current market and industry skill requirements. In a review meeting on the National Youth Employment Plan held in Islamabad on Thursday, the Prime Minister committed to personally chairing monthly review meetings to oversee the plan's execution.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting provided insights into the action plan designed to offer training and employment opportunities through various institutions over the next four years. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing communication with local industries to train youth in relevant sectors, while also taking into account the manpower needs of international organizations. He instructed the establishment of a comprehensive database to track the skills needed in local industries.

During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the value of Pakistan's talented youth as the nation's most significant asset. He stated that the government is focused on empowering and employing young people by offering them vocational training and essential skills. Furthermore, he mentioned that efforts are underway to promote manpower export by providing international quality training to Pakistani youth.

The meeting was informed that between 2.4 million and 6 million youths would be supported in gaining employment opportunities by receiving vocational training and skills over the next four years. It was also noted that considerations are being made regarding manpower demand at the market, industry, and international levels to ensure the provision of relevant skills and vocational training to the youth.

Additionally, it was reported that the Digital Youth Hub is nearing completion and is set to be launched this month. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all involved ministries and institutions in advancing this initiative.
