PM Directs Revisit of Awareness Campaign for 20 Billion Rupees Ramadan Relief Package

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the relevant ministries to collaborate with the private sector to reassess the awareness campaign for the 20 billion rupees Ramadan Relief Package, focusing on its effectiveness and reach.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a review of the monitoring mechanism for the Ramadan Relief Package at the National Telecommunication Corporation in Islamabad, the Prime Minister highlighted that the withdrawal rate from digital wallets stands at about twenty percent. This low rate is attributed to a lack of awareness among the beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the relief package is a right for the deserving people, not a favor. He urged them to dial 9999 to obtain necessary information about the digital wallets.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that, for the first time, cash transfers of five thousand rupees are being provided to eligible families in a transparent manner under the Ramadan relief package. This initiative aims to empower families to purchase items according to their own needs and preferences, ultimately benefiting four million families.

The Prime Minister also called for feedback from relevant stakeholders within a week to consider expanding the volume of the relief package. Prior to this, he received a comprehensive briefing on the relief package's monitoring mechanism.
