Baku: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Baku on a two-day state visit to Azerbaijan. Upon his arrival at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, he was welcomed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yagub Abdulla oglu Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, and other senior officials.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with Federal Ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, are accompanying the Prime Minister. During the visit, Pakistan and Azerbaijan will engage in discussions on areas of mutual interest to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy, trade, defence, education, and climate sectors.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements in multiple areas of cooperation are expected to be signed during the visit. The Prime Minister is also expected to deliver a keynote speech at a Business Forum organized in collaboration with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO).
Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a brotherly relationship based on mutual trust, understanding, and longstanding cooperation. Azerbaijan remains one of Pakistan's key economic and strategic partners, with collaboration across multiple sectors. The Prime Minister's visit underscores Pakistan's commitment to strengthening its ties with Azerbaijan, fostering economic collaboration, and exploring new avenues of partnership for shared development.
