Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said we have no option, except the development and progress of Pakistan. Speaking at a meeting of the Federal Cabinet in Islamabad this evening, he said anarchist elements cannot be allowed to obstruct the development and progress of the country. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted that protests, anarchy, and unrest are detrimental to the economy. He pointed out that the Pakistan Stock Exchange had crossed the mark of 99,000 points before the protests, but experienced a sharp decline of approximately 4,000 points in a single day. He noted that the Stock Exchange regained the 99,000-point mark once peace was restored in Islamabad today. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that protests cause a daily economic loss of around 190 billion rupees. He criticized the PTI for initiating anarchical protests in 2014 and maintaining this approach since then, urging an end to this disruptive mindset. The Prime Minister accused the PTI of attempting to create un rest during significant events such as the visit of the Chinese President, the SCO conference, and the visit of a Saudi delegation. He expressed regret that timely judicial action against those involved in the May 9 incidents could have averted the current situation. Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged and commended the military leadership and intelligence agencies for their role in thwarting the miscreants' plans. He also expressed appreciation for the Islamabad, Punjab, and Sindh police, Rangers, and other Law Enforcement Agencies for successfully repelling the miscreants and restoring order in the Federal Capital.
