Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to the principles and objectives of SAARC Charter and to continue to play its part in strengthening the organization. He was talking to Secretary General South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation SAARC, Muhammad Golam Sarwar who on his maiden visit to Pakistan called on the Prime Minister in Islamabad today. The Prime Minister underscored that SAARC has immense potential for regional development, trade, cooperation and collaboration. He said he desires to see the Organization as a mean of progress and prosperity in the region. Congratulating Muhammad Golam Sarwar on his appointment as 15th Secretary General of SAARC, Shehbaz Sharif hoped that he will play his role to revitalize the organization. Noting that the Secretary General belonged to Bangladesh, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm wishes for the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and said Pakistan desires to strengthen its bilateral ties with Bangladesh.
