Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated government's commitment to make Pakistan find its place in the comity of nations through hard work. He expressed the resolve while speaking the Meeting for Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh this evening. The Prime Minister said we have to stand on our own feet, which is difficult but not impossible. Elaborating the country's economic crisis, the Prime Minister said our power sector is in shamble and revenue sector in tatters. The Prime Minister said we have introduced massive and deep rooted structural reforms in different sectors to put economy on right trajectory. He also thanked the leadership of Saudi Arabia, Britain, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America for their renewed support to the country's economy. Turning to the issue of climate change, the Prime Minister said our contribution to the gas emission is not even up to the fraction of a percent but Pakistan is f acing challenge as the most vulnerable country. He said Pakistan incurred a loss of thirty billion dollars in terms of economic losses due to the worst floods in 2022. Shehbaz Sharif thanked the friendly countries including Saudi Arabia, Britain, Gulf courtiers and the United States of America for helping Pakistan in these testing times.
