Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today telephoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi and condemned the terrorist attack on a police post in Bannu yesterday.
According to Radio Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives in the incident. He prayed for a higher status in heaven for the police personnel who were martyred and extended condolences to their families. The Prime Minister also wished for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.
He reiterated the federal government's commitment to collaborate with provincial governments to eradicate terrorism. The Prime Minister assured all possible support to the provincial government in its fight against terrorism. Both leaders paid tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan, security forces, and police for their ongoing efforts against terrorism.
