Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Pakistan TV Digital and inaugurated an English Channel. On this occasion, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Information Secretary Ambreen Jan, and other senior officials were present.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister also visited various sections of the new channel and interacted with the young professionals working there. He emphasized their important role in combating external narratives and highlighted the importance of consistently providing authentic news to counter misrepresentation and propaganda about Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif recorded his first interview for Pakistan TV Digital broadcasts during the inauguration. Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar briefed the Prime Minister about the goals and objectives of Pakistan TV Digital, stating that it aims to serve as a proactive and credible voice for Pakistan to the global audience. The channel intends to bridge the information gap and act as a public diplomacy platform in English to counter the one-sided narratives prevalent in Western and Indian-influenced regional media.
