PM Shehbaz Launches Rs20b Ramadan Relief Package

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched a Ramadan Relief Package worth twenty billion rupees in Islamabad. Addressing the launching ceremony, the Prime Minister announced that the package will offer cash transfers of five thousand rupees through digital wallets to four million deserving families, ensuring the most transparent distribution method.

According to Radio Pakistan, the relief package will extend to all four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan, with round-the-clock supervision and monitoring. The Prime Minister stressed that this initiative aims to eliminate the inconvenience of long queues outside the Utility Stores. He also mentioned plans to privatize the Utility Stores Corporation.

During the event, the Prime Minister condemned the terrorist attack at Darul Uloom Haqqania, describing it as a tragedy that has affected the entire nation. He expressed confidence in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's efforts to capture and severely punish those responsible. He reiterated the commitment to eradicating terrorism.

Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain added that the cash transfers under the Ramadan Relief Package are scheduled to be completed within ten days. He announced that stalls would be set up at the tehsil level during Ramadan to offer sugar at one hundred and thirty rupees per kilogram. Additionally, Utility Stores will provide essential commodities at a fifteen percent discount.
