GILGIT: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated a series of projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, aimed at enhancing the development and progress of the region. The ceremony for these completed projects took place in Gilgit. According to Radio Pakistan, the projects include the Naltar Expressway, the construction of an Engineering Block at the Karakoram International University, the Baltistan University project, and the provision of high-speed internet across Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, the Prime Minister laid foundation stones for the Attabad Lake Hydro Project, Harpo Hydro Project, the establishment of a regional grid station, and the Greater Water Supply Hunza Project. Speaking to the media afterward, the Prime Minister expressed optimism that the completion of these major development projects will lead to a new era of growth and prosperity in Gilgit-Baltistan. He highlighted the importance of equipping the youth with IT skills, pointing out that there are significant opportunities for skilled workers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries. The Prime Minister also reiterated his commitment to promoting tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, viewing it as a means to bring prosperity to the region. He acknowledged the sacrifices of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan in their struggle against Dogra rule, assuring that their efforts will contribute to making Pakistan a great nation.
