Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday.
The Prime Minister commended General Bajwa's services for the Pakistan Army, country's defence, and national interests. He said the outgoing Army Chief played an exemplary role in bringing Pakistan out of FATF's grey list as well as during COVID-19 pandemic and floods.
He said the Pakistan Army under the leadership of General Qamar Javed Bajwa played a valiant role in crushing the scourge of terrorism from the country. He said General Bajwa led the Army at a critical juncture and played a key role in making Pakistan's defence impregnable.
The Prime Minister said General Bajwa's leading role determined the direction to meet security challenges in a complex regional situation. He also appreciated General Qamar Javed Bajwa's role with the regard to the importance of geo-economics.
Shehbaz Sharif said all the political forces should demonstrate collective wisdom by singing charter of economy to make Pakistan an economic power.
He said General Bajwa has the honour to lead the best army of the world.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa thanked the Prime Minister for his support in handling matters of national importance.
