Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his commitment to make Pakistan a society where women can live with dignity and safety. In a post on social media platform X, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Shehbaz Sharif said violence against women is not only a grave human rights violation but also a profound obstacle to the progress and prosperity of our nation. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening legal frameworks to combat gender-based violence. This includes ensuring the strict enforcement of existing laws, such as the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, and creating accessible mechanisms for justice. The government's efforts aim to provide a safer environment for women and address the systemic issues that contribute to gender-based violence in the country.
