Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the resolve to utilize all available resources in providing relief to the common man. He was talking to Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, who called on him in Islamabad today. On the approval of pro-people budget for 2024-25, Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the Finance Minister and hoped that the next fiscal year will be helpful in progress and prosperity of Pakistan. He said a relief has been provided to the salaried class, pensioners and labourers in the budget. The Prime Minister said special focus has been given to the health, education, agriculture and Information Technology sectors. He said the privileged and non-taxpayers will be brought to the tax net as it is not possible that the poor people pay tax and the elites enjoy perks. Shehbaz Sharif said the journey of Pakistan's development and prosperity is continuing and the country's economy is heading towards the right direction. He said investors' confidence has been restored due to pro-business polic ies of the government. He added that measures are being taken on priority basis to introduce reforms in the institutions and privatize the loss-making entities. Shehbaz Sharif said both the treasury and the opposition benches eagerly participated in the budget session of the parliament. He also commended all the officers of the ministries of Finance, Planning, and other relevant divisions, along with FBR, for their efforts in budget preparation. Source: Radio Pakistan
