In their messages on the eve of Youm-e-Takbeer, the President said the achievement of nuclear capability was indeed a remarkable feat for which country’s scientists, engineers, political and military leadership of the time deserved high commendation.
He said we must highly appreciate our political and military leadership that took wise decision at that time to achieve nuclear capability making defense of the country unassailable.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in his message said nation would have to move ahead with the same spirit as manifested on Youm-e-Takbeer to attain economic sovereignty and self-dependence.
He said the day reminds that for the defence, solidarity and national interests, we would not budge from any sacrifice.
He expressed the determination that with unity, hard work and staunch faith, we would turn Pakistan into an economic power.
Meanwhile, in a tweet, the Prime Minister paid rich tributes to the political and military leadership, scientists, engineers, and all others concerned for setting a redline for Pakistan's defence and laid down rules of the game for peace and stability in the region.
He said the day represents how the consensus between all elements of national power achieved what once looked like an uphill task. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a visionary who initiated the nuclear program. In a show of bold leadership, my leader Mian Nawaz Sharif firmly rejected the policy of stick and carrot and made sure that the country became nuclear.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that all along, our armed forces remained a guardian and protector of the program in the face of the malign intentions of our enemies.
On the Silver Jubilee of Youm-e-Takbeer, the Prime Minister paid rich tributes to all those who remained associated with the country's nuclear program. He said their hard work, commitment, and determination made it possible for our people to guard their independence from any physical threat.
