Punjab CM Unveils Rs310m “She Threads” Project for Rural Women’s Empowerment

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has allocated 310 million rupees for the "She Threads" project aimed at promoting the economic empowerment and financial independence of rural women in the textile sector.

According to Radio Pakistan, the initiative provides participating women with a monthly stipend of 15,000 rupees and a transportation allowance. Women aged 18 to 45 years with at least a middle-level education from villages across Punjab are eligible to apply for the program.

The "She Threads" programme features ten specialized training courses in the textile sector, specifically designed for rural women. Currently, training sessions are being conducted successfully in Lahore, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Faisalabad.

In her statement, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that empowering women financially and socially is a key commitment of the Punjab government. She expressed confidence that skilled women would prove to be a valuable national asset.
