Punjab Govt Allocates Rs11bln to Mitigate Smog Issue

Lahore: Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the provincial government has allocated a budget of eleven billion rupees to mitigate the smog issue. Speaking in the Punjab Assembly, she outlined the government's commitment to addressing the environmental challenge.

According to Radio Pakistan, a comprehensive remapping of all brick kilns has been carried out in collaboration with the Environment Department. This initiative aims to enhance monitoring and enforcement of environmental regulations.

The Minister informed that brick kilns are now being issued QR codes to facilitate better tracking and compliance. This measure is expected to improve the management of emissions from these sources, contributing to a reduction in smog levels across the province.
