Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam has said that solution to the issues of Gilgit-Baltistan is the top priority of the Federal government. Chairing a high level meeting at Gilgit-Baltistan Council in Islamabad today, he said the government will utilize all available resources for development and prosperity of the region. The Minister said Gilgit-Baltistan had immense potential to become the world's top tourist destination. Highlighting the mineral and hydel resources of the area, he pledged making efforts to harness the region's potential of development. Engineer Amir Muqam said Gilgit-Baltistan traders' issues would be amicably resolved in accordance with the rules and regulations, keeping in view the special status of the region and assured that all the stakeholders would be taken into confidence in this connection. The Minister said the government has resolved the issue of provision of wheat to Gilgit Baltistan and subsidy on wheat was also provided. The meeting w as attended by Secretary Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, Joint Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Council and representative of GB Importers and Exporters Association and GB Chambers.
