Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has urged the United Nations to play its role in ending atrocities against Kashmiris and Palestinians.
He was talking to former UN President Volkan Bozkir in Turkey on Tuesday.
The issues facing the people of Afghanistan and peace were also discussed during the meeting.
The Governor briefed Volkan Bozkir about the steps being taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan to restore peace in Afghanistan and the situation regarding the atrocities committed by the Indian security forces against the Kashmiri people.
He lamented that in Kashmir, 855 days had passed since imposition of worst lockdown by the Indian government and the Kashmiris are deprived of basic human rights.
The former UN president reaffirmed his commitment to protect human rights in Kashmir and play a role for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
