Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a comprehensive and effective strategy package is being prepared to reduce electricity tariffs, which will be announced soon. He was chairing a meeting to review matters pertaining to the Power Division.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister stated that reforms in the power sector will provide further relief to the public in electricity prices. He directed the concerned authorities to remove ambiguities among the public regarding the solarisation policy through facts and figures, emphasizing that there has been no change in the government's policy and priorities regarding solar energy.

Shehbaz Sharif further directed the acceleration of the privatization process of power distribution companies and instructed the resolution of all legal and other matters related to the privatization of generation companies at the earliest. Additionally, he directed the Power Division, Water Resources Division, and Petroleum Division to enhance coordination for a comprehensive energy sector strategy.
