Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says the recently established Special Investment Facilitation Council is aimed at strengthening trade and economic relations with Gulf States.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, he said under this initiative, Pakistan will bring investments from Gulf states with major focus on ensuring fast development in the sectors of agriculture, Information Technology, Mining and Energy through the use of modern and innovative technologies.
The Planning Minister said the present government has been focusing on five Es i.e. Exports, Environment, Energy, Economy, Equity and Empowerment.
He said Pakistan has a big population of youth and women, and effective steps are being taken for their empowerment.
Ahsan Iqbal said our youth can play a pivotal role in the IT sector that is in great demand in the world.
Later, talking to media the Planning Minister said the government has laid the foundation of economic recovery, by taking difficult decisions.
