Islamabad: The National Assembly resumed its session at the Parliament House with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq presiding. Responding to a Calling Attention Notice, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazeer Tarar announced that the Election Commission of Pakistan is implementing measures to address the gender gap in voter registration between men and women. The government is providing full support to these initiatives.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Tarar expressed confidence that with collaboration from NADRA and other relevant departments, the voter gender gap will see further reduction. He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring equal voter participation among genders.
In response to another Calling Attention Notice, Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Nelson Azeem assured that there is no shortage of essential medical equipment in hospitals across the Federal Capital, including PIMS and Polyclinic. Essential items such as ventilators, testing machines, and GeneXpert systems are adequately available to meet public health needs.
Additionally, the National Assembly successfully passed 'The Nexus International University of Health Emerging Sciences and Technologies, Islamabad Bill 2024.' Furthermore, 'The Qanun-e-Shahadat (Amendment) Bill, 2025' was introduced and subsequently referred to the relevant standing committee for further consideration. The House is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 2 p.m.
