Turkiye has accused Greece of using an air defense system to harass its aircraft on a reconnaissance mission.

In a statement, Turkish defence ministry said this hostile action was orchestrated on the 23rd of this month when Greek S-300 missile system deployed on the island of Crete locked Turkish planes.

It termed the action incompatible with the spirit of NATO alliance and contrary to NATO rules of engagement.

The Ministry added that the Greek military officials were summoned in Ankara and conveyed the protest of Turkiye in this regard.

It said that Greece is endangering NATO mission by its hostile actions.
