The UN Security Council (UNSC) has condemned in strongest terms the suicide attack in Peshawar mosque and called for those responsible for heinous and cowardly action to be brought to justice.
In a statement, the 15-member Council expressed deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Pakistan and wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.
It said the members of the Security Council underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice.
