Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says an investment of three billion dollars from China has landed in Pakistan. Responding to points raised by Leader of the Opposition Syed Shibli Faraz, he said work has begun on the country's largest nuclear power project, reflecting growing confidence of the international community in the government's economic policies.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Planning Minister addressed the Al-Qadir Trust matter, stating that sixty-four billion rupees were misappropriated into private accounts instead of being deposited into the national exchequer during the tenure of the PTI Government. He emphasized that those responsible would be held accountable for this corruption.
The Planning Minister also criticized the PTI government for damaging Pakistan's aviation industry, leading to substantial financial losses for the national flag carrier. The grounding of Pakistan International Airlines flights to Europe, due to allegations against the pilots, was highlighted as a significant setback.
Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar urged PTI to follow legal procedures to secure relief for their detained leaders and workers involved in various cases. He also introduced the Special Technology Zones Authority (Amendment) Bill 2025, which was subsequently referred to the standing committee.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar addressed a calling attention notice by Sherry Rehman, stating that efforts are ongoing to restore PIA flights to the United Kingdom. He confirmed that twenty-two PIA planes are currently operational and that the privatization process for the national carrier will be reinitiated soon.
The parliamentary session concluded with an announcement that the House will reconvene tomorrow at 11:30 in the morning.
